VKO LLP was founded in 1969 in Edmonton Alberta while operating as R. MacCallum Chartered Accountant. While the city has changed much since then, our approach has not. We provide professional services to owner-managed businesses with the personal care that each client is entitled to.

Harold Vanderschee, CPA, CA

Partner

Harold’s experience with national and local firms has led to a wide range of experience in accounting, auditing and taxation matters related to small and medium sized businesses.  Harold has also taught various accounting and taxation courses at the University of Alberta and NAIT as part of their accounting programs. Harold is married and the father of two adult children. Harold enjoys playing hockey, hiking, mountain biking and spending time playing with most things mechanical.

Gerald Koebel, CPA, CA

Partner

Gerald has worked for local, national and international accounting firms as well as a large public company. This diverse work history gives Gerald a lot of experience to draw on when assisting owner-managed businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Gerald is also actively involved in minor hockey as both a coach and volunteer on numerous boards.

Leonard Ouellette, CPA, CA

Partner

Leonard Ouellette joined VKO LLP in 2004 and became a partner in 2006.  He began his professional career with Grant Thornton LLP and achieved his Chartered Accountant designation in 1990.  Leonard works with owner-managed businesses and individuals, providing business advisory services that include compliance and assurance accounting services, tax compliance, tax planning services and financial and estate planning.

Thomas Bonar, CPA, CA

Partner

Thomas has more than 15 years experience delivering a full range of assurance and business advisory services. His practice focuses on managing assurance engagements of various sizes and industries, including private and not-for-profit clients; maintaining a hands-on approach to deliver tailored solutions to achieve his clients' goals. His passions are centered around his family, friends and being active.

Casey Clifton, CPA, CA

Partner

Casey entered the accounting profession as he enjoys assisting others achieve their goals. Casey’s work is mainly in the area of assurance and tax. He develops long lasting relationships with owner-managed businesses and individuals to understand their needs to ensure their financial reporting and tax obligations are met. Outside of the office, you’ll find Casey on the golf course or with family and friends.

Brittany Grace, CPA

Manager

Brittany joined VKO LLP in early 2020, dedicated to delivering exceptional service and sharing her expertise in accounting. She specializes in managing assurance engagements for not-for-profit organizations and housing co-operatives. Passionate about professional development, Brittany takes pride in mentoring and training her colleagues to excel as future CPAs. Outside of work, she engages in a variety of hands-on hobbies, including puzzles, drawing, and reading.

Lourjan Te, CPA

Manager

Lourjan joined VKO LLP in March 2021 and has quickly become a valuable team member. She is committed to building long-term client relationships, excelling in direct interactions and taking a proactive approach to meeting client needs, especially in assurance engagements with for-profit clients. Outside of work, Lourjan enjoys hiking, attending concerts, playing string instruments, and exploring her passion for food through cooking, baking, and discovering new dining experiences.

Antonette Ibasco, CPA

Manager

Antonette brings her accounting expertise to VKO LLP, where she prioritizes building strong client relationships and understanding their unique needs through effective communication and personalized service. Outside of work, she is passionate about traveling and exploring new destinations, immersing herself in diverse cultures. Antonette enjoys running and hiking, embracing opportunities to connect with nature and stay active.

Rebecca Major,

Office Manager/Bookkeeper

Rebecca has been part of VKO LLP since February 2019, where she focuses on keeping the office running smoothly through her expertise in bookkeeping and office management. Her attention to detail and organizational skills ensure that daily operations flow efficiently. When she’s not at work, Rebecca enjoys capturing the beauty of nature through photography, exploring new hiking trails, traveling to new places, and discovering different kinds of music.
